Passover is one of the most special times of the year, filled with family, traditions, and of course—matzah! It’s the holiday that tells the story of the Jewish people’s journey from slavery to freedom, reminding us of courage, faith, and the power of hope. As we gather around the Seder table, we retell the story, ask questions, and enjoy special foods that connect us to our history. As we celebrate Passover and remember the journey from slavery to freedom, we can also think about what freedom means to us today. Here’s a question to ask your children: If you could free the world from one thing that makes life harder for people, what would it be and why? This can lead to a meaningful discussion about kindness, fairness, and the importance of helping others.

To make your Seder even more fun, we’ve created a special gift for you—three interactive Seder placemats filled with puzzles and riddles to keep kids engaged during the long meal.

The word of the month is חֵירוּת (freedom)! This word is very connected to Pesach, as the holiday celebrates the freedom the Jewish people gained from Egypt. During Pesach, we celebrate freedom and the right to choose and shape our own lives. If you look at nature during the spring, you will see the plants and flowers beginning to bloom again—just like the Jewish people, who began a new life of freedom during the Exodus.

מִצְפֵּה רָמוֹן = Mitzpe Ramon
Mitzpe Ramon is a small town in southern Israel, located in the הַנֶּגֶב (Negev) desert region, which covers a third of Israel. The town is situated on a high cliff overlooking מַכְתֵּשׁ רָמוֹן (Makhtesh Ramon), a giant, beautiful crater that was formed millions of years ago. The crater is a very special place, with stunning cliffs and open views that attract hikers and visitors from all over the country. Mitzpe Ramon is not large, but it is surrounded by nature, a magical desert, and clean air. The town is named after its location, מצפה (Mitzpe), which means a high observation point.
Mitzpe Ramon combines peaceful desert living with a communal culture. Families here are involved in agriculture, tourism, arts, and science. Mitzpe Ramon is a place where nature and simple urban life meet in an amazing way.
